About Us
Virtual OCD Center of NY & NJ specializes in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive and anxiety based disorders for adults, adolescents, and children. Presently providing teletherapy and limited in-person sessions to New York and New Jersey residents. The main therapeutic approaches consist of Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP) combined with principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) while also promoting healthy lifestyle choices. Michelle Cuppari, owner of Virtual OCD Center of NY & NJ is a Licensed Psychologist, licensed in the states of New York and New Jersey specializing in the treatment of OCD, Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors, anxiety disorders and anxiety based eating disorders- Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and Orthorexia. Michelle focuses on providing a warm, empathetic environment (with creativity and humor) to meet her patients' needs. Treatment approaches are geared toward patient needs. Michelle works with adults, teens, and children.

Having lived experience with OCD/anxiety and ERP herself, she is passionate about treating OCD and anxiety and believes this has assisted her to truly understand the inner workings of her patient's symptoms. Her goal is to assist her patients achieve a better quality of life to become the best versions of themselves. She finds the skills learned in therapy also assist her patients to generalize to other desired areas of their lives.

Prior to becoming a psychologist, Michelle worked in the NJ public schools as a School Counselor working with children of all ages. Michelle is the author of the children's book "CREEPY CREEPY GO AWAY: A Story About A Boy and his OCD" sold on Amazon, various publications, and fhas been featured on the Podcast "You're Not Alone" which can be found in the social links found at the top or the bottom of this page. In her free time, Michelle enjoys keeping active with fitness classes and outdoor activities, spending time with her daughter/family and friends, on the beach, driving her convertible in the sun, or with her Beagle Max.

Dara Faden, PA, LMSW

Dara Faden is a board-certified Physician Assistant and LMSW. She has spent the last 12 years practicing as a Physician Assistant in Family Medicine, specializing in treating mental health. Dara noticed there was a lack of mental health providers in the community treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), which spurred her to go back to obtain her Master's in Social Work. Her passion lies in the treatment of OCD.
Dara holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester with high honors in Psychology, a master's degree from The George Washington University in Physician Assistant Studies, a Doctorate in Health Sciences from NOVA Southeastern University, and a master's degree in Social Work from Simmons University.
Dara works primarily with clients seeking OCD treatment. She has seen great success with clients using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and other anxiety disorders. She has been trained in modalities such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She strongly believes in a client-centered approach and building a strong relationship with her clients. She tries to incorporate humor into therapy when appropriate. In her spare time, Dara enjoys traveling the globe and being in nature with her husband and two Goldendoodles.

In addition, we recognize all patients respond differently and there is not a "one size fits all" approach. We pride ourselves on being adaptive to our patients' needs.
